So I was reading an article (which I can no longer find) on Google News about how Microsoft basically uses its consumers as part of their quality management process. Obviously, it is a very opinionated article, but I think it is very true to an extent. I will admit Microsoft has a tough task of ensuring its software works with every hardware configuration, especially when their products are (arguably) the most ubiquitous. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah.

Microsoft Internet Explorer sucks.

I use Mozilla (ver. 1.4) and it completely blows the crap out of Internet Explorer. If you have to be part of a quality management process, why not do it for a group of people that will actually listen to AND CORRECT your issues? Here are some features that I like:

1) NO POPUPS. Why buy popup blocker software when you can use a browser that blocks popups at the source? Mozilla eliminates popups. Period.

2) TABBED BROWSING. Instead of opening new windows, you can open a new tab in the same window and easily see what sites you have open. You can even bookmark a set of tabs for all your news, sports or porn sites.

3) CUSTOMIZABLE WINDOWS. You can apply different looks to your browser. It’s not a big deal to most, but if you have a POS laptop like me that only has a resolution of 800 x 600, you can get a new theme to maximize screen space.

The first reason should be enough to get you to switch. At least try it out.
