Happenings at the hospital. Some of the people here are mentally unstable and provide patient care. Please beware.

Yes, I do go to Starbucks. For all you holier-than-thou types that get upset at people like me who frequent companies “known to” exploit workers, eat my ass. Starbucks is situated between my bus stop and the hospital where I work so it’s convenient for me and I could care less if you have a grudge with Starbucks. I buy coffee from a company that PROBABLY exploits bean-picking kids in Columbia. I buy socks from a company that PROBABLY exploits yarn-darning kids in Korea. I buy clothes from a company that PROBABLY exploits single, one-armed, paraplegic mothers somewhere in India. More than likely, you buy SOMETHING that exploits SOMEone, SOMEhow, SOMEwhere on the consumer chain, but you fail to acknowledge it for one of the following reasons:

1) You do not know any better
2) The product is too much of a convenience in your life and you would rather ignore the exploitation
3) You have found an alternate company providing equivalent goods or services that is more acceptable to your conscience even though they probably use the same suppliers but were lucky enough to elude the “60 Minutes” team.
4) The company was not on the top ten list of Exploited Workers Weekly
5) You are naive enough to think that only a handful of manufacturers use cheap labor. Newsflash: they ALL use the cheapest labor they can get away with.

Anyway, fuck people like you who immediately look down upon others for doing the one thing that someone told you was the “bad-cause” of the week. You treat others as bete noire now because of coffee and the injustice associated with that company? I am tired of people like you making people like me Apologists for living. Get a grip on your miserable existence and your skewed vision of the world. I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts that people like you go home feeling good about yourself for being socially responsible, but on the way home, you see someone crossing the street a block ahead of you and you speed up just a little bit…

Thank you, come again.
