Wired News: Keep Your Brain From Going to Pot

So today I learned that, while the government has resurrected the “Dope makes you a dope” ad campaign (dropping the “Quit supporting Al-Queda, You Terrorist Fuck” campaign), Pharmos has initially shown that “an altered version of cannabis” may greatly reduce brain cell death in severe head trauma cases.

Yeah, “altered version”, right. If it’s illegal to buy (even possess) marijuana in the U.S., how did Pharmos, based in New Jersey, get to experiment with it? Did they buy it in its “altered” state? So does the law read: “It is perfectly lawful to possess marijuana as long as it will be used to make people feel better, the altering person(s) will be able to make a profit from it, and it will be distributed and available in mass quantities”?

I guess they wouldn’t be able to make any money from it if you could just buy a quarter bag and keep it around just in case you accidently trip over your dog and hit your head. Because you were stoned.
