I am partially recovered after becoming one of the countless unreported victims of the flu here in CO. Six children have died around the area, and the number of cases are so high our hospital is no longer accepting flu cases. It’s a bad mix when children are dying and the hospital actively refuses to see anymore cases. Parents have to be going crazy, right? We had a couple barricade themselves in a patient room and wouldn’t come out until a doctor saw their child. Like a real-life John Q. Security eventually got them out, but I don’t know if anyone looked at their kid. This is a bad combination of situations–horrible flu strain in the wild, a hospital running short of staff due to people bringing in the flu, and an inundation of patients and parents of patients scared by the news of deaths around their area.
By the way, if I refuse to get a flu shot next year, somebody backhand me.
