MSNBC - Bush eyes program for illegal immigrants
Bush is trying to get the popular vote this year by trying to lock down the now-legal-and-voting-former-immigrant vote.
It’s a pretty sneaky plan. Since he can only serve one more term if re-elected, he’s essentially saying: “You work here for 3 years then you get your ass back to your own country before you apply for citizenship and legally become my neighbor in Texas when I retire.”
In the meantime, the US gets the same cheap labor but now they gain taxes on the formerly-illegal wages. The way I see it is illegal immigrants are already here and the people who have the moxie enough to hire them sure as hell don’t want to fill out the extra paperwork, what with the W-2’s, 1099’s, and F-U’s.
Nice plan. I’m SURE it will work out.
