As a biologist by training I’ve done experiments and studies on animal subjects, but this article makes me puke. Here’s the gist of “Gene tames field mice’s lusty ways, study says”:

Promiscuous male field mice were more likely to settle down with a mate and ignore the female next door after a single gene transplant, according to a study in the journal Nature that examined the role of genes in human bonding.

Subjecting mice to a human social constructs is just inhumane. These fellas were happy just running around the field checking out the females and doing the deed. Invading the mouse house. Hiding the vole pole. Now these genetically modified Promise Keepers spend “significantly more time huddling with their first partner than with the stranger”. :::shudder:::

Maybe they’re happy being mimbos. Save the male mouse whores.
