I played a quick 9 holes at Overland today. BR came over to watch the U.S. Open since the weather was pretty crappy, but then the sun started peeking out. We decided to hit the links somewhere close and Overland fit the bill nicely. It was crowded by the time we got there (we weren’t the only ones thinking about playing) but they got us out after we hit a large bucket.

I changed my swing on the range to get my hands closer into my body and am actually hitting the ball more consistently, especially for using this swing for only half a round. I’m grooving a 6-iron about 185 yards with less effort than my old swing and all my other irons are inline with that number. Hole number 7 is a straight 405 yard par 4 and my approach was 120 yards, so my driver distance is still setting me up very well. I shot a 43 with 2 3-putts so I’m pretty pleased (but not with my putter).

Overland doesn’t have a lot of surprises and is pretty straightforward.
