I am officially back in glasses - at least for the next week or so. What happens next week, foureyes? I’m glad you asked!

Next week I’m getting tested to see if I can get Lasik surgery! Apparently, my eyes must decompress from the contact lenses so I had to go buy glasses. I could have used the ones from high school, but I learned it’s no longer fashionable to have glasses that are slightly larger than welding goggles. Go figure. Oh yeah, my prescription has changed a bit since then anyway, and I don’t know how long I’ll need to be sans contacts so I went ahead a bought a pair of goggles for my peepers.

One thing I did learn is that, with new advances in lens technology (such as the slim lenses I bought), even a bad prescription like mine only yields a lens as thick as a manhole cover. It’s nice to have hope that this spectacled-form of birth control will only have a short life span if all goes well.

The target date is in January depending on the schedule of my doctor. I know you’re all as excited as me so I’ll keep you updated.
