So I spent Friday night on a shopping spree, getting all the things I would need to go riding on Saturday. First off I went to Gart Sports to look for boots but there were slim pickings and nobody wanted to help me. So I went to REI, found a pair of boots that fit well then went to get a helmet, goggle and pants at Colorado Ski & Golf. We headed up to A-Basin on Saturday morning and I got a lesson from a dude named Cowboy (highly recommended if you’re ever in A-Basin and need a lesson).

OK, there are some nuances that will take a while to master, but I didn’t have a problem keeping my balance, going downhill or stopping (or “crashing” as other people call it). By the end of the day I was able to link 3 turns and avoid landing on my face, which I think is a great success.

The short of it is that I’m hooked and can’t wait to go back - hopefully this coming weekend. I’m not as sore as everyone said I would be, but there’s always next time…
