I’m back! The flight back was uneventful except for a long wait to check my bags in thanks to the new Frontier Airlines system upgrade. It was good to see my friends and family but the weather got me down out there - cold and gray. It really made me tired, but the last 2 days of the trip were awesome, which helped my hangover. Lots of fun out there with all my friends. Oh yeah, Anna come back to Denver! I’m glad things went well for you.
I do hate leaving for as long as I did, because there’s so much work to do when I get back. The great part about working for a company, quitting and coming back later is that the professional relationships I had back then are still entact today. There are some really good people working back at the corporate office and it really helps to know them personally and professionally.
I realize how much I put up with when I was out there. Nashville as a whole seems as if it’s searching for an identity even though it had a great one in the early 90’s. You didn’t have to be dressed up like an Abercrombie & Fitch catalog to get into restaurants. We went to Virago for sushi and it looked like an L.A. club. That’s cool but we’re in freaking Nashville. We shouldn’t have to put up with the attitude. Maybe I’m being unfair since Denver has no dress code or maybe there are just more hole in the wall places to hide in. Whatever it is, that city is too small and too good to let places like that survive. What happened to the bars with the mechanical bull? Ah, Gilley’s. I guess every place has to change.
Hmmm…not much other news. Screw it.
