CIA - The World Factbook — Rank Order - Population
Interesting…I wonder what the formula is for estimating to the person the population of each country or union? It seems you would round to the thousands or even the hundreds if you are estimating something this large. I’m sure there’s a statistical reason for it that is beyond me, but I was just interested in the world’s population now and stumbled across the CIA’s site. Number 2 and 3 are no surprise but it’s interesting considering some conversations I’ve had recently with friends and colleagues.
I also just got “The World is Flat” and am getting ready to start it. I’ll let you how it is.
