Even though the four girls were denied a chance to grow up, “in their deaths they represent the very tragedy to triumph that we are celebrating because we were not denied,” said Rice, the highest-ranking black in the federal government.

It’s unsettling that I’m so used to seeing “African American” as the replacement to “Black” that when I see the former, and less PC term, used it looks strange to me. Especially in an article about civil rights. Don’t get me wrong, I hate the new PC world - mainly because we’d rather watch the semantics of words about others than what we’re actually saying to others, but when the supposedly left-wing CNN runs an article using the un-PC term I just think it’s weird. Or maybe I’ve just been immersed in all this “re-education” for so long that it’s starting to take root.
