Apple is heading in the right direction regarding price with the iPhone for $399 but the new iPod Touch looks great, too. The great thing about the new iPod (for me) is that there’s no need for the phone part in my world. I need to carry a Blackberry for work and I don’t want to keep another device on me since I don’t generally like to wear a bandolier of geek toys. Also, the iPod touch would fit in nicely into my carputer/car video dreams since I have the install bug after tearing apart the Outback to install a new stereo, hardwiring the Sirius Stiletto and hardwiring an A/V port to play a DVD Player/laptop (pics to come soon). I think I could honestly work the new iPod into the design and have the security of being able to remove the video component from the car.
Think this is overkill? You’ve obviously never driven I-70 Sunday afternoon during Winter and had bored passengers…
